Graduated with a Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine. (Massage Establishment License #MM39632).
Modalities include acupressure massage (no needles) and auricular (ear seeds). Acupressure works by activating points on the body with pressure, along meridians to allow energy flow, and bring the body back to balance.
Auricular is a microsystem that works with the brain and has points on the ear that correspond to every part of the body. Specializing in overall wellness, homeostasis, pain, stress, and weight loss, etc.
The therapist will examine your medical history, and perform a brief intake with you, addressing your concerns. The client will be clothed at all times throughout the session (preferably shorts and a t-shirt). No lotion/oil provides for a less invasive, more hygienic, safe & professional environment.

Practiced for thousands of years in China, acupressure uses the same principles as acupuncture to promote relaxation and wellness. Acupressure is acupuncture without needles. Traditional Chinese medicine utilizes acupoints, or acupressure points, that exist along meridians, or channels, in your body. These are the same energy meridians and acupoints as those located in acupuncture. Through these channels flows vital energy, or a life force called qi (chi). These 12 major meridians connect specific organs or networks of organs, enabling a system of communication and function throughout your body. When one of these meridians is blocked or out of balance, illness can occur. Acupressure helps restore balance by activating points that have a specific function. The purpose of acupressure is to restore health and balance to the body's channels of energy and to regulate yin (substance) and yang (action). Acupressure not only helps the energy fields and body but also the mind, emotions, and spirit.
So acupressure is not only just Chinese acupuncture points, but it can also be used to apply pressure to muscles like the trapezius and spinalis muscles with the ability to alleviate tension. Infact traditional deep tissue is more broad while acupressure is more concentrated, while still being able to cover entire muscles. For example when applying gliding deep tissue with the knuckles on the trapezius muscles, because of the body mechanics of the therapist and the angle at which he/she is providing massage, getting to the deep muscles is not "as" possible. With acupressure, one can basically apply the thumb tool to apply focused pressure directly to the muscles, instead of trying to balance applying pressure and traversing the muscle. I don't necessarily just work on pain, emotions, or other systemic issues, but if a client just wants to relieve some tension and relax, I can work on the shoulders, back, and should time allot, any other problem area. The greatest amount of tension resides in the shoulders and back, and working on those provides for the most neuro-sedative effect. In addition, acupressure provides the same circulatory benefits as regular massage (or acupuncture), particularly when you can see more blood flow to the area after working it. If the client would like to try the acupressure, I can focus on relaxation and stress relief, if that is what they request. Acupressure can also be likened to trigger point therapy, varying on the level of pressure requested by the client.
